How do I get the best price?

You always get the best price when you book here on this site - directly with us.

We also provide discounts for children under 16 years and have a special deal for families with children under 16 years that stay a minimum of three nights. Have a look on our families' page!



Book direct and save!
We love the internet. Here at Backpackers Villa we have seen for ourselves how the planning of all our trips has moved online over the last ten years. With the click of a mouse or the swipe of a finger we have the world available to us, helping us find places to stay in the most obscure corners of the globe, helping us make choices in cities where the options can be overwhelming, and – indeed – to find the best prices for our trips by shopping around.

So we know that booking websites provide a great service, helping us compare hotels and hostels in different cities, and giving us feedback from other guests that have stayed there. But this service comes at a price, and that is the commissions that are charged on each booking made which are usually in the range of 10-15% of the total stay.

We have made the decision that we will always add parts of these commissions to our own website rates when we sell our beds through third parties. Many other hotels and hostels have been building these commissions into their prices, which has often resulted in price increases for all guests.

We also did not feel that it was fair that those who were not using such a service, and booking with us direct, had to pay the same price as those using an online booking portal.

So if you would like to save that commission when you come to stay with us, then book with us directly. Not only are bookings through our own website cheaper, but we offer the widest choice of room options as well. Because of the commissions that have to be paid, we do not always make all our rooms available through third parties.

The best availability and price will always be through us directly.

When is check-in?

Our reception is open from 7 am - 10 pm (22:00). The rooms are ready for check-in from 4 pm (16:00).
If you want to drop off your luggage before, you are welcome to do so.

If you arrive after reception is closed you get your keys from the blue keybox at our entrance. Just enter your reservation number and you will get your keys automatically.
The same information is found on your booking confirmation.

I will arrive late. Can I still check-in?

Yes, you can.

You can arrive anytime. Don’t worry, we keep your reservation. Late check-ins are made easy with your keys waiting for you in the blue key box.

Breakfast from 07.00 - 10.30am. What's the breakfast like?

Bread, butter, cheese, jam and muesli provide a perfect start into the day and get you ready for the great outdoors. Have a glass of orange juice - don't miss a kick of vitamins!

If you would like to have meat, sausage, cheese or eggs for breakfast please bring them yourselves. You can prepare all of it downstairs in the self catering kitchen, which is available 24 hours.


I am not that young any more. Is it still ok for me to stay with you?

Yes absolutely, we are happy to welcome anyone who is looking for an easy-going and open atmosphere.

When do I have to check out?

Please clear the rooms and check-out by 10am.
Use the free day lockers to store your luggage during the day after check-out. You are welcome to stay and enjoy the kitchen, public rooms, reception and lounge areas. All is still open to you all day also after check-out.

Check out starts from 7.00am, but if you want to leave earlier that is no problem at all. Just let us know the evening before and we will explain how it works.

Credit card is needed - do I have to pay when making a reservation?

Reservations on our website are free. There is no booking fee or down payment necessary. You are asked for credit card details (number and expiry date) as a guarantee only, in order to hold your bed / reservation for you.
Up to 24 hours prior to arrival reservations can be changed or cancelled at no cost.
Only in case of late cancellation (less than 24 hours prior to arrival) or no show we charge the cost for the first night to your credit card.

Do I have to be a member?

No, there is no membership required in order to stay at Backpackers Villa.


Can we bring our dog?

Unfortunately, we don't accept pets here at Backpackers Villa.

Backpackers Villa is a member of Christian hotels. Do you offer particular programs?

We are a backpackers' hostel and usually have a lot of young, international guests. They stay with us for one or two nights. We offer a time-out and coworking room.
We do not offer a particular program, as our guests prefer to scout the region independently and discover the beauty of it for themselves.
We are happy to help with information for all kinds of activities and to give ideas of how to make the most of your time here in Interlaken.

Can I have a parcel sent to Backpackers Villa

Yes, you can have a letter or parcel sent to Backpackers Villa. Make sure that it reaches here in time for your departure and check out our important notes below.

PLEASE NOTE: Switzerland is not part of the EU. Therefore, all goods coming into the country have to go through customs and you have to pay tax. This is charged separately through the delivering company (e.g. Fedex, UPS etc.) and topped up with an admin fee, which is usually a lot higher than the tax amount itself. Often the invoice arrives long after your stay.
In order to hand out the parcel to you, we will have to take your credit card details and you have to sign that we will charge the amount of the tax invoice including admin fee to your card.

MUCH EASIER: We like to recommend ordering online from a Swiss company such as brack.ch or digitec.ch. They deliver often within 24 hours and none of the above mentioned difficulties apply. They all accept online credit card payments.
